THIS ROUTINE SAVED MY HAIR

Ive been blogging for years now, and among the most read posts on this blog is about hair loss/hair fall. People search for the cure to hair fall EVERY. DAY. I have told the story on how I control my hair loss here a few years ago, but I have to admit that some things just stopped working on you. This is "its not you, its me" version of me and my previous favourite shampoo. Well its not the product, its my scalp and hair (literally).


Selepas setahun dua menggunakan produk yang sama, masalah rambut gugur kembali semula. I thought it was over, but turned out it was just the beginning *insert dramatical music here*. Rambut saya gugur semula, tak kira berapa kerap saya syampu. In fact, makin kerap syampu, makin banyak gugur. Mungkin faktor hormon, stres, atau usia kot hahaha *gelak sedih*. Gugur pula bukan sikit sikit, sekali sikat segumpal rambut yang gugur. Bangun tidur pun kena kutip dulu helaian rambut kat bantal tu. It was the worst hair fall that Ive experienced.  Jadi, bermulalah semula fasa pengembaraan saya mencari syampu/perapi/minyak rambut/serum yang sesuai. Dalam misi untuk menemukan produk yang betul-betul berkesan terhadap kulit kepala dan rambut saya, dah macam-macam saya cuba.


Saya dah cuba macam-macam syampu termasuklah produk tempatan yang popular, saya dah cuba guna bahan tradisional macam santan, saya dah cuba berhenti guna syampu dewasa dan cuma guna syampu bayi je, saya dah cuba minyak rambut yang berbau kuat, dan saya juga dah cuba satu krim jambang jenama tempatan dengan harapan rambut saya akan menjadi selebat jambang tauke krim jambang tersebut... haha. Yes, when it comes to hair, people can be desperate so dont judge okay! 😂

Hasil eksperimen dan percubaan bermacam-macam produk, akhirnya saya berjaya temukan beberapa produk daripada beberapa jenama berbeza. Sooo my hair care routine (that saved me from almost getting bald) are as follows:


1. Audace Regan  Hair Reactive and Hair Fall Control Shampoo (With Conditioner) - dua/tiga hari sekali

2. Audace Regan Extra Hair Reactive and Hair Fall Control Tonic - setiap malam sebelum tidur

3. Good Virtues Co. Multiple Repair Hair Serum - masa rambut masih lembab lepas syampu dan bila-bila rambut rasa kering

Thats it for the products! I loveee the Regan shampoo. Syampu tu dah ada perapi sekali jadi dah tak perlu pakai perapi dah. Hair tonic tu pula ada menthol, jadi rasa sejuk je kat kepala. Serum Good Virtues  tu pula saya pakai kat rambut, dari atas sampai hujung rambut. I LOVE IT. Rambut memang jadi lembut dan kurang kusut. Setelah banyak produk saya cuba, tak sangka yang saya dah jumpa produk yang betul-betul berkesan untuk rambut saya kali ni. You may get all these products at Watsons. Oh, but theres more to the routine than just using the products actually. Rutin ni termasuklah tabiat-tabiat yang perlu dibuat kalau nak rambut kita lebih sihat dan kurang gugur, seperti berikut:

4. NEVER wear hijab with your hair wet/damp

Pakai tudung semasa rambut kering SAHAJA. Im not sure about the science behind this, but it works on me. I sometimes had to go out with my hair damp, but not for a long time. Meaning the hair would be in my hijab for only less than an hour, but I noticed that when I take off my hijab, strands of hair will also come off. But this rarely happen when my hair is completely dry. So, the best way is to avoid washing your hair before you go out (sebab takut tak sempat kering). Oh plus, kalau pakai tudung masa rambut lembab nanti kepala dan tudung kita akan lebih cepat berbau.

5. Sikat rambut masa rambut masih lembab

Untuk saya, rambut saya lebih cepat gugur kalau disikat masa basah. Kalau masa kering pun banyak juga gugur sebab rambut lebih kasar dan kusut untuk disikat. Jadi, jalan terbaik adalah dengan menyikat semasa rambut masih lembab sambil menggunakan serum. I dont comb my hair everyday though, only on certain days. And while combing, I like to massage the comb on my scalp too.

6. Tocang rambut sebelum tidur

I put my hair into a cute braid before I go to bed. This is to avoid more hair fall during your sleep, especially if youre a deep sleeper like me (yang tidur lasak dan berpusing-pusing atas katil sampai rambut pun boleh putus haha).


So, with these routine followed with good discipline (and with high hopes of getting my hair back), Im finally happy with the results. My hair is thicker and fuller and much softer now. Kurang dah rambut yang gugur masa sikat (masih ada rambut gugur, tapi dah tak terlalu banyak macam dulu). Those who know me personally would know that I was born with curly hair (masa kecil orang panggil Jaji rambut Maggie haha), and curly hair are more difficult to manage as it tend to become dry and frizzy without proper care, so I have to be extra when it comes to my hair.
